Design of Civil and Industrial Buildings in Seismic Zones (PCCIZS)

In the last 20 years, the earthquake has been the natural hazard that has caused the most victims and the greatest economic losses worldwide. Romania is a country with a high seismic risk, and Bucharest is the European capital with the highest seismic risk generated by the urban agglomeration and the seismically vulnerable old built stock.

The competences imparted in this master’s program in seismic design and rehabilitation of buildings are in line with the latest developments in the field of seismic engineering worldwide. PCCIZS is one of the few master’s programs in the European Union that strictly addresses the problem of earthquake protection of buildings.

The PCCIZS master’s degree is mainly addressed to engineers with activity in the field of structural engineering for constructions. The massive growth of the construction industry at national and European level in recent years means that the demand for construction engineers far exceeds the supply of European universities.
