Why study at FCCIA

Admitere UTCB

Why Engineering?

The construction engineer profession is fundamental for the development of society, for addressing at least three key issues, such as construction safety, life protection and property insurance.

Why Civil Engineering?

At the Faculty of Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Buildings (FCCIA) the good professional training of students is at the center of academic policies. Our undergraduate, master’s and doctoral study programs offer a deep multidisciplinary character in the preparation of students, oriented both towards solving current technical problems and towards stimulating creativity – a very important element in this engineering field.

At the Faculty of Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Buildings (FCCIA) we are equally concerned with the study of the vast history of architecture and construction techniques, but also with solving the current problems of the society through modern tools. We are part of the global effort to develop the current priority areas, regarding the resilience to disasters of the built infrastructure, the development of smart cities and the energy efficiency of civil constructions.

We ensure that our graduates will gain a solid professional training, validated both in national and international practice. We organize the best civil engineering programs in the field of buildings and other types of civil constructions in Romania. Our graduates are sought after by top companies in the construction sector in Romania and abroad. The skills acquired allow our graduates to occupy important professional positions and have successful careers in various countries of the European Union, and not only.

We train engineers in undergraduate degree programs with recognized skills in building design, construction execution, construction management, public administration. We build real, solid skills, not just a diploma.

We support entrepreneurial training through extracurricular activities. The construction sector favors the development of small companies in the field of design, consultancy, execution or management of construction works. Many of our graduates choose successful, “self-employed” entrepreneurial careers.

We encourage students to participate in international mobility internships within UTCB’s double degree programs and within the Erasmus Plus program. In Romanian at home, in English, French or Spanish at large European universities, engineering is the same.

We are happy to collaborate with our students. The Construction Students’ Association from Bucharest (ASCB) is our partner in ensuring the success of the study programs offered and in the students’ extracurricular activities.

The faculty is composed of 5 didactic departments in which more than 100 teachers with solid professional training work. Most of the teaching staff are young, graduates of the last 20 years of the faculty.

We support student professional competitions, national and international, in which our students prove the value and strength of the Bucharest school of civil construction.

We consider the university as a space of personal autonomy, an environment of academic freedom and creativity. We attract the best students who want to study civil engineering, from Bucharest, from Muntenia, from the South of Moldova and beyond. Good colleagues who always offer their support, in a warm and friendly environment. We are happy to have such students.

We operate in renovated, bright and friendly spaces, in the faculty headquarters located at 124 Lacul Tei Boulevard. We have 5 amphitheatres equipped with multimedia systems, 6 computer rooms, 9 rooms for projects and applications and 3 specialized laboratories. We have a multidisciplinary library and reading room for students.

What can graduates do with their degree?

Graduates of our undergraduate degree programs are successfully active, in a considerable proportion of insertion on the labor market, in the field of building design and other types of civil constructions, construction works execution, construction works management and public administration.

In addition, graduates of the master’s programs offered by the faculty acquire additional skills that allow them to take technical approaches at a higher level, in the fields in which they work.
