About us

The Faculty of Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Buildings has 5 departments, over 100 members in the teaching staff and approximately 1500 students. The faculty organizes 3 bachelor’s degree programs (4 years) and 6 master’s degree programs (2 years). The faculty headquarters houses 3 computer science laboratories, physics and chemistry laboratories and specialized laboratories: reinforced concrete structures, steel structures and the seismic risk assessment research center.

The Faculty of Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Buildings has made, throughout its 68 years of existence, a fundamental contribution to the development of Romania by developing knowledge in civil engineering and by training engineers. The importance of the services rendered to society over the years by the FCCIA cannot be disputed. The fundamental contribution to the urbanization of Romania and to the development of the industrial sector is noteworthy. All the great civil engineering achievements of the last 65 years have been attended by elite members of the FCCIA faculty.

The main mission of the Faculty of Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Buildings is that of education, of serving society by training construction engineers with skills in accordance with the current requirements of the construction sector. Scientific research is an essential activity for ensuring a university environment of high professionalism, for technical innovation and for the development of knowledge. This mission is part of the fundamental mission assumed by the UTCB to be a national center for the training of new generations of specialists and performing scientific research in the fields of constructions, their seismic protection, the construction of communication ways, installations, construction machinery, land measurements, environmental protection, urban engineering and others.

The Faculty of Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Buildings contributes to the transformation of UTCB into a university of advanced research and education in the field of construction and to the full integration of the university into the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area.
